Sound Clip: Sparkling by Margaret Noble
I am on the quest to create sonic illustrations for meanings that we primarily understand through text and image. I wanted to hear “sparkling.” In this recording, I combined the sounds of glass particles in a metal bowl, a shell wind chime and a dangling glass chandelier piece. Next, I converted the wave files into midi notes to augment the field recordings I made with the glass and shells. The melodic synthesizer voicings heard are derived from the natural melodies found in the glass and shell composition.
This sound project is for an upcoming multi-channel art exhibition at the MCASD.
