Sound Clip: SW13 by Thomas Park

This clip is a shortwave sample, lighly treated, but basically intact. It demonstrates the distorting effect sound between bands has on voice. The vocal sounds are of normal human speech, but because the shortwave radio used was not tuned properly, the voice sounds are oddly warped.

Hi! Thanks for the post, Margaret! Just a quick note– this particular clip does not feature the “R2D2″ sounds I was thinking of, though it does show the strange quality of vocal sounds in between bands on a short wave. I’ve also heard some really electronic-sounding stuff that more resembled robot speak.

I hope folks enjoy the sound.

  2. Great clip…love that vocal distortion. so much better than using presets in speakerphone.
