Sound Clip: Magnetic Car by Mike Rooke

Magnetometers placed directly under a car engine. The recording is processed via Baudline, not metasynth – although it would make a rather interesting piece to process further for the sake of this entry Ive left it as close to the original recording as possible.

The recording has seven distinctive phases.

1. Engine off, natural field drift / drift due to the electronics.
2. Slight disturbance as the car doors open.
3. Engine starts, major change
4. Engine running, slight drift as engine settles.
5. Engine off.
6. Steady field, step out of car (even the change in height is detected).
7. Finish.
